The Highland Park Water Tower
Located in the Highland Park are of St. Paul, Minnesota was designed by Clarence W. Wiginton, who was the nation’s first African-American municipal architect. The tower was completed in 1928 at a cost of $69,483.
The octagonally-shaped tower is constructed of brick and cut Kasota and Bedford stone. It hold 200,000 gallons of water in a teal tank. It is toped with arched observation deck that is open to the public a few times a year, as long as they are willing to climb the 151 steps.
